Twin Rivers Unified School District Helps Families Enroll Into Affordable Health Coverage Before February 15 Covered California Open Enrollment Deadline

SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (February 10, 2015) – On Tuesday afternoon, students, families, educators, and community members came together at Highlands High School to learn about and enroll into affordable health coverage. The enrollment event was part of The Children’s Partnership’s ALL IN for Health 22-day statewide campaign with schools, early learning centers, and after-school sites across the state to help inform all eligible families about available health coverage opportunities and connect them to coverage ahead of the Covered California open enrollment deadline on February 15.

“With just a few days left until the end of the Covered California open enrollment period,

Twin Rivers Unified School District is working to ensure our families have the opportunity to connect to health coverage,” said Dr. Steven Martinez, Superintendent of Twin Rivers Unified School District. “Healthy kids make better learners, and connecting our students to health coverage puts them on the path towards success.”

“Schools are a natural onramp to connect thousands of uninsured children and families to health coverage. That is why the ALL IN For Health Campaign has partnered with schools across the state to educate families about health coverage opportunities and make sure eligible families get the enrollment assistance they need,” said Wendy Lazarus, Founder and Co-President of The Children’s Partnership. “We applaud Twin Rivers Unified School District for their commitment to educate the community about affordable health coverage options and to offer opportunities for families and individuals to enroll.”
