EXPANDING COVERAGE TO UNDOCUMENTED CHILDREN AND FAMILIES

Every child and family member deserves quality health insurance, no matter where they were born. When children get the care they need, they are less likely to miss school and more likely to perform well in the classroom and graduate. When parents have health coverage, their children are more likely to be enrolled and the whole family can have peace of mind.

California recently made history by expanding Medi-Cal to low-income undocumented children and youth. Now, nearly every child can enroll in the health coverage they need and deserve.  As we celebrate this important victory of Health4All Kids, we recognize that our work is not complete. If we want every child to have a bright future, we must continue to make sure every member of the family can have the security health insurance provides.

We are working to ensure all children in California benefit from the opportunity to enroll in comprehensive health coverage and advocating for all members of the family to have coverage.

Partnerships & Community:
We partner with immigrant, health, consumer, and other community organizations across the state to educate California families with newly eligible children about their eligibility for quality, affordable health coverage. Through our ALL IN For Health Campaign, we are partnering with trusted organizations to equip them with easy-to-use tools and technical assistance to educate and connect immigrant families to coverage.

Policy:
We are working with the State to make sure California’s implementation of Health4All Kids is as quick and seamless as possible, because no child should experience a gap or delay in health coverage.
