Wendy Lazarus Statement on Health for All Act Progress

As the Health for All Act, SB 1005, passed out of the CA Senate Health Committee, Wendy Lazarus responded to the action on the bill:

“We applaud the action of the Senate Health Committee for taking an important first step towards ensuring that everyone, regardless of their immigration status, has access to health care. We support this effort, not just because it is the right thing to do, but because it makes sense fiscally. When children and adults have coverage, they are able to get the preventive health care they need to avoid costly emergency room visits and chronic health problems. In addition, we know that children are more likely to be covered and receive health care if their parents have coverage. A greater California is possible when all children and families are given the means to succeed.”
