Statement From The Children’s Partnership on the Reintroduction of California’s Health For All Bill

SACRAMENTO, CA (December 1, 2014) – Today, The Children’s Partnership released the following statement from Founder and Co-President Wendy Lazarus, in response to California Senator Ricardo Lara’s (D-Bell Gardens) reintroduction of the Health for All Act (SB 4), which would extend health insurance for all undocumented immigrants:

“We stand with Senator Ricardo Lara and our partners to expand access to health coverage for all Californians, regardless of immigration status, in the coming year. The Children’s Partnership has long advocated that no one should be denied access to quality, affordable health care. When every single parent and child has preventive care, we can reduce overall health care costs in the state, avoid unnecessary emergency room visits, and foster more productive communities. Now, more than ever, we are close to achieving one hundred percent coverage for all Californians. Let’s show we recognize the broad public support to cover all Californians and finish this important job.”
