SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (February 7, 2015) – On Saturday, students, families, educators, and community members came together at Encina Preparatory 6-12 School to learn about and enroll into affordable health coverage. The enrollment event was part of The Children’s Partnership’s ALL IN for Health 22-day statewide campaign withschools, early learning centers, and after-school sites across the state to help inform all eligible families about available health coverage opportunities and connect them to coverage ahead of the Covered California open enrollment deadline on February 15.

“Encina Preparatory 6-12 School is proud to serve as a resource to families in the community,” said Barry Roth,Community Partnerships Coordinator and English Teacher at Encina Preparatory 6-12 School. “We know firsthand that when our students have access to health coverage, they are better prepared to learn and succeed. Today’s event was an incredible opportunity for us to help families enroll into health coverage before the February 15 Covered California deadline.”

“Schools are a natural onramp to connect thousands of uninsured children and families to health coverage. That is why the ALL IN For Health Campaign has partnered with schools across the state to educate families about health coverage opportunities and make sure eligible families get the enrollment assistance they need,” said Wendy Lazarus, Founder and Co-President of The Children’s Partnership. “We applaud Encina High School for their commitment to educate the community about affordable health coverage options and to offer opportunities for families and individuals to enroll.”
