about vote for kids!
Vote for Kids! is a public awareness
campaign designed to inform California voters where congressional
candidates stand on key children's issues in the upcoming election. It
is also intended to provide California Congressional candidates with a
briefing on the issues.
The Children's Partnership launched Vote for Kids! to ensure that
important California children's issues are addressed by the next
administration and Congress. Voters want politicians to act for kids.
For example, 81 percent of California voters support ensuring that all
children in California have health insurance. Vote for Kids! is an
effort to give candidates a chance to stand up for kids and let voters
know about it.
The Children's Partnership has sent all of the California
congressional candidates questionnaires asking them how they would
ensure every
child has health insurance, how they would use health
information technology to benefit children, and how they would use
technology to increase
children's 21st Century skills. Vote for Kids! will publish
candidates' responses online to show voters their candidates stand on
these critical children's issues.
The candidate
questionnaire, candidate
response form, and other
resources Vote for Kids! sent to candidates are available for
download.
Vote for Kids! is funded by First Focus, a bipartisan advocacy
organization committed to making children and families a priority in
federal policy and budget decisions, as part of its Children in Focus
Project.
