The Children's Partnership Commends the FCC on Its NATIONAL
BROADBAND PLAN: CONNECTING AMERICA

The National Broadband Plan offers a strong and well-formulated approach to deliver digital opportunity to all Americans and to the nation's children in particular.

The plan underscores the fundamental importance of extending broadband access to every corner of America, and of promoting adoption in our many diverse communities as a way to prepare the nation for the challenges of the 21st century.

We especially note the plan's emphasis on how broadband can enable a variety of tools and strategies that improve the health, education, civic engagement, and workforce preparation of Americans. The Children's Partnership's body of research shows that there are particularly powerful benefits to be gained for today's children and for generations to come.

We commend the FCC for this significant contribution to advance digital opportunity for all Americans. We recognize the potential inherent in this plan to make a difference for children and young people and we look forward to working with the FCC to realize this potential.
